James E. Grand

Jim founded The Securities Law Group in 2004 to serve the legal needs of investment advisers and fund managers. His extensive experience with federal and state securities laws enables him to provide strategic guidance to a wide range of clients, including advisers, U.S. and offshore fund managers, broker-dealers and commodity pool operators. He presently provides legal services to more than one hundred advisers and funds organized in the United States and offshore. Jim has a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and a juris doctorate from the University of San Francisco. He has written and lectured on investment advisory and securities law topics for a variety of seminars and publications.

Jack G. Martel

Jack has been a partner in The Securities Law Group since 2004. He has over fifteen years of general securities background and currently represents domestic and offshore fund managers, investment advisers and other investment vehicles. He regularly advises on entity structuring issues and all manner of compliance matters including investment adviser registration, fund marketing and performance advertising as well as responding to regulatory audits and deficiency letters. Jack has a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a juris doctorate from the University of Oregon where he was executive editor of the Oregon Law Review. He has written and lectured on investment advisory and securities law topics for a variety of seminars and publications.
